One Coin or Two: How to Tell a Social Casino From a Sweepstakes Site
Chumba runs two coins: Gold Coins with no cash value and Sweeps Coins that redeem at US$1 each from 100 SC under Sweeps Rules 26.0. A one-coin social casino drops the prize currency and the redemption clause with it, and six brands we read in 2026 print a Gold-Coin-only document or mode.
Social casinos like Chumba: one coin, no prize
Social casinos like Chumba look the same on screen: slots, a coin balance, a daily bonus. The difference sits in the documents. A social casino runs one play currency. Chumba runs two.
Chumba's Terms and Conditions 27.0 (13 July 2026) give Gold Coins “no monetary value”, and they “cannot under any circumstance be redeemed for prizes”. The second coin, Sweeps Coins, is defined as sweepstakes entries that arrive free: on sign-up, as a bonus with Gold Coin packs, or through free entry. Sweeps Coins won through play redeem at US$1 each (Sweeps Rules 26.0 cl. 4.4). Take the second coin away and what remains is a social casino.
Chumba itself runs in that one-coin form in the places its Terms 27.0 cl. 3.1(b)(ii) exclude from Promotional Play, and the Chumba Casino states page lists them.
The redemption test: five clauses to look for
The quickest way to tell the two models apart is to open the rules and look for a numbered redemption clause. Chumba's documents make a good template, because every step carries a number.
- A second currency defined as sweepstakes entries. Chumba: “Sweeps Coins” in the T&C 27.0 definitions.
- A value per coin. Chumba: US$1 per Sweeps Coin, SR 26.0 cl. 4.4.
- A minimum. Chumba: 100 eligible SC, SR 26.0 cl. 6.5.
- A free entry route. Chumba: an online entry request worth 5 SC, SR 26.0 cl. 3.2(d).
- Verification tied to redemption. Chumba: requests stay pending until checks finish, T&C 27.0 cl. 9.2.
A site with all five runs sweepstakes. A site with none of them is a social casino, whatever its banner says. A site with some of them and gaps in the rest needs a closer read, and those are the interesting cases below.
One sentence misleads often. Several terms say there is “no opportunity for a User on the Platform to win real-money or any prize”, with an exception for “no purchase necessary” promotions. Mega Bonanza, Jackpota and Funrize all print it in clause 2.1. At Mega Bonanza it matches the rest of the documents. At Jackpota, the Sweepstakes Rules 1.9 of 9 September 2026 still run a full redemption section. The rules document decides, and the Terms of Service alone can point the wrong way.
Prize coins go by many names
The redemption test works on clauses rather than names, because the prize coin is called something different at almost every brand. Search a rulebook for the word redeem, rather than for Sweeps Coins.

Fortune Wins never spells out FC. It defines it as the promotional currency that “may, under certain circumstances, be redeemed for real money prizes” (SR 1.1.6), and that definition is what makes it a prize coin.

WB marks a Wayback Machine capture of the operator's own page, used where the live page was blocked or blank from our location.
Mega Bonanza is the clearest case. Its Terms of Service 2.6 contain no Sweeps, Sweepstakes, Prize or redemption provisions, and its Sweepstakes Rules address served the site's own 404 page as early as June 2025 (WB 26 June 2025). Gold Coin packages run from US$1.99 to US$299.99 (help, updated 26 August 2026). We found no dated notice of the switch, so the change can only be read from the documents.
Funrize shows a model in transition. Its Award Rules, last revised 4 June 2024 (WB 9 November 2025), paid real money at US$1 per 1.00 of winnings from a 25.00 minimum. On 11 September 2026 the site's own page service answered “StaticItem not found” for that rules page, and the footer links no replacement. The mail-in page is still live and credits one Promotional Entry or five Free Plays per request. Prize play may go on in some form, but the redemption clause we can read dates from 2024.
NoLimitCoins, run by the same company as Funrize, A1 Development LLC, describes itself as play-for-fun and offers Promotional Free Plays under clause 7.7 of its agreement. The agreement we read has no redemption clause.
McLuck is the uncertain one. Its Terms of Service say games “are currently played using Gold Coins” and stop there. A rules page titled for free Sweepstakes Coins exists, but every capture we found was a script shell or a 404, and the live page was blocked from our location. Treat McLuck's redemption terms as unread rather than absent.

Dara Casino states the split most plainly: “Where Promotional Sweepstakes Play is unavailable, Users are governed exclusively by the Social Casino Rules (Gold Coins Only)”. The same brand is a two-coin sweepstakes casino in one place and a one-coin social casino in another. LoneStar publishes a Gold-Coins-only text next to its sweepstakes contract; the GTC 1.2 is the one that governs Sweep Coins.
This split matters when you compare brands. A review that calls a site a social casino may be describing its one-coin mode, and a review that quotes its redemption minimum may be describing the other.
Labels that say one thing, terms that say another
Some brands relabel coins in one document and keep the old names in another. Each case below runs two coins on its rules or help pages, whatever the other document says.

Pulsz is the case that confuses most readers. Its label reads like a one-coin site; its support pages read like a sweepstakes site. Its sweepstakes rules page was blocked from our location, so the coin names, value and minimum stay unread. Until those rules can be read, treat Pulsz as a two-coin site whose numbers are still open.
What changes when there is only one coin
Moving from Chumba to a one-coin social casino changes four things.
- The prize path goes. With no redeemable coin, the 100 SC minimum, the playthrough and the 10-business-day bank leg (T&C 27.0 cl. 8.16) all fall away.
- Free entry goes with it. The online entry request (SR 26.0 cl. 3.2(d)) exists because Chumba runs sweepstakes. Daily free coins can remain: Mega Bonanza's help centre offers daily rewards every 24 hours.
- Purchases stay. Gold Coin packs still cost money: US$1.99 to US$299.99 at Mega Bonanza, and US$1.99 to US$99.99 at Jackpota (help, updated 4 September 2026).
- Identity checks can stay too. Mega Bonanza's help centre still asks for government photo ID, a selfie and proof of address under 90 days old (updated 7 September 2026).

Choosing between a social casino and a sweepstakes site
If you play for the spin and never redeem, a one-coin social casino gives you the same kind of play with fewer rules to read. If the chance of a prize is the point, check for the five clauses above before you buy a coin pack, and read the rules document rather than the label. Among social casinos like Chumba, the six in the tables above are the ones whose documents show a one-coin text or mode as of 11 September 2026.
