LuckyLand Slots closing: the reported timeline

LuckyLand Slots, VGW's sweepstakes slots brand and Chumba Casino's sister site, is shutting down. The LuckyLand Slots closing was reported by CasinoBeats on 28 July 2026, quoting VGW, and it runs in three steps.

The same report says Chumba Casino, Global Poker and LuckyLand Casino continue. VGW's own site, vgw.co, lists post titles and dates, and its article bodies would not open for our reader, so no VGW text of the closure has been read.

What we saw on 11 September 2026

When we opened luckylandslots.com on 11 September 2026, it redirected to a page at /not-available. That redirect is the one first-party sign of the closure we could read. The rest of the timeline rests on the trade report.

The last LuckyLand Slots rules we read are Sweeps Rules 31.0, dated 13 July 2026, from an archived copy of 7 September 2026. They set a redemption minimum of 50 Sweeps Coins (clause 6.5), a 1× playthrough (clause 4.6) and 5 Sweeps Coins per valid online entry request (clause 3.2(d)(vi)). The Terms of Service 25.0 of 24 November 2025, from an archived copy of 12 December 2025, name the operator as VGW Luckyland, Inc. in clause 2.1.

Chumba stays: what its documents show

Chumba's own documents were live and current on 11 September 2026. Its terms page opened with Terms and Conditions 27.0, and the page data was stamped 10 September 2026. The Sweeps Rules in force are version 26.0, and both documents are dated 13 July 2026.

Chumba's footer on that date listed its payment agents, among them VGW Luckyland Inc and, new since February 2026, VGW Financial Services USA Inc. Chumba's rules on coins and redemption date from before the closure report and still apply: a 100 Sweeps Coin minimum, a 1× playthrough, and up to 10 business days for the bank leg.

Same group, separate accounts

Both brands belong to VGW. Chumba's Terms and Conditions 27.0 define the VGW Group as VGW Canada, VGW Games, VGW Malta, VGW GP and their affiliates. Chumba is owned and operated by VGW Malta under clause 2.1, while LuckyLand Slots was operated by VGW Luckyland, Inc.

A shared owner still means two platforms, two accounts and two balances. Coins stay on the account where they were credited: a LuckyLand Slots balance stays with LuckyLand Slots, and a Chumba balance is untouched by the closure. Chumba's Responsible Social Gameplay Policy 4.0 follows the same line. Its clause 4.2(h) applies a self-exclusion only to the site where it was requested, and support must be asked to extend it to sister sites.

The map of VGW's brands, and of the other groups that run several sweepstakes sites, is on Chumba Casino sister sites.

What LuckyLand Slots shared with Chumba

The two brands ran on near-identical rulebooks. Set side by side, most rules match:

RuleLuckyLand SlotsChumba Casino
Value of a Sweeps Coin won in playUS$1 (Sweeps Rules 31.0, cl. 4.4)US$1 (Sweeps Rules 26.0, cl. 4.4)

Minimum age21 (Sweeps Rules 31.0, cl. 1.2)21 (Terms and Conditions 27.0, cl. 3.1(a))

The clearest difference was the floor. A LuckyLand Slots player could redeem from 50 Sweeps Coins, while at Chumba the same request needs 100. For a player moving from one brand to the other, that is the number that changes most.

Outside VGW, three alternatives print the same 50-coin cash floor in rules we read on 11 September 2026: WOW Vegas in SC Game Rules 30.0 of 9 September 2026, Rolla in SC Game Rules 13.0 of 14 July 2026, and Modo.us in Official Rules of 29 May 2026. WOW Vegas and Rolla, both run by MW Services, also keep a 1× playthrough with a 20× ceiling, the same shape as LuckyLand's clause 4.6.

Global Poker, the other VGW brand that continues, keeps LuckyLand's lower floor. Its Sweeps Rules 25.0 of 13 July 2026, read on 11 September 2026, set a 50 Sweeps Coin minimum (clause 6.5), a 1× playthrough (clause 4.6) and 5 Sweeps Coins per valid online entry request, and its Daily Bonus requires a verified account (clause 3.2(c)(iii)).

If you still hold a LuckyLand Slots balance

The reported last day for access and redemptions is 14 September 2026, three days after this post. The rules we last read set the mechanics for a request made before then:

  • A minimum of 50 eligible Sweeps Coins, played through once (Sweeps Rules 31.0, clauses 6.5 and 4.6).
  • Cash goes to the account or wallet used to buy Gold Coins, and gift cards go to the account email (clauses 6.3 and 6.4).
  • One redemption request per 24 hours, and up to 10 business days for the bank leg (Terms of Service 25.0, clauses 8.15 and 8.16).
  • Requests stay pending until verification is complete, with extra checks at US$2,000 or more (clauses 9.2 and 9.3).

How requests filed in the last days will be paid is set out in nothing we could read. The dates above are the reported ones, and the clocks are the standing terms. What closing an account does to a balance is covered on closing your Chumba account, and Chumba's own redemption clocks are on Chumba redemption time.

What it means for Chumba players

For a Chumba player, the practical change is a smaller family. LuckyLand Slots leaves the VGW line-up, while Chumba, Global Poker and LuckyLand Casino remain. LuckyLand Casino is a separate brand from LuckyLand Slots: VGW's newsroom lists its launch post under 12 December 2025.

Chumba's own clocks run as before. Sweeps Coins still expire 60 days after the last log-on (Terms and Conditions 27.0, clause 8.22), the 100-coin floor still applies, and verification still comes before any redemption.

Players who liked both brands can compare the options on casinos like Chumba and LuckyLand or on the wider list of Chumba casino alternatives. Legal and regulatory actions involving sweepstakes operators, VGW included, are covered on one page only: Chumba casino states.
